While attending the Rocky Mount SDA Church this past Saturday, I had the privilege to meet Kevin Shaw and view his wonderful presentation called “All Creatures of our God”. This presentation in conjunction with the sermon delivered by Dwight Davis, titled “Doing the Right Thing”, filled me with reassurance and inspiration. I was inspired to continue on a path that I had started prior to attending the service; however, I needed a little encouragement. Friday evening, I had my weekly bible study, and studied my devotional. At the end of my devotion, I had a very strong sense of an obligation to give testament to the awesome power of God’s love and how He has blessed my life. While thinking of the many things that I had been through, I realized that I did not feel down, nor did I ask, dear God, why me? I was no longer asking myself why I had to endure the painful things that I had been through; instead I felt grateful. I was grateful to be reassured that God does not make mistakes. He created me, you, and all of creation. He knew my faults before I knew my faults. Ever thing that we go through only goes to serve his greater purpose; and He wants nothing more than for us to be happy. I have heard the statement that until we have a test, we will not have a testimony. The sermon, “Doing the Right Thing”, was about our duty to to give our testimony. Those who know the Good News and does not share it, sins. James 4:17 states, “Therefore, to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.” We are all creatures of God, wonderfully made, and it is our duty to share His goodness and love throughout the world. You are not a mistake, and your strengths and weaknesses are all a part of God’s wonderful design. So be encouraged. Your trials were not by chance. Praise God for all that he has done for you in the past, in the present, and what he will continue to do in the future. Praise God for his love and mercy. Simply, Praise Him!!
I hope that you too will be inspired, enjoy, and share the YouTube presentation, All Creatures of our God, by Kevin Shaw
